My Little Lego Man's 8th Birthday

My youngest turned 8 yesterday.
His favorite thing in the entire world
right now is Legos. And they are
wonderful for him!

He was super excited when
we found Lego Star Wars party
decor.

I had to do the sticker thing for his
card since my stamp sets don't exactly
include legos or star wars. LOL
But he really loved it.
He was still looking it over about 5
minutes later, and looked over at
me and said "That is really cool!"

The blue layer is only attached
to the left side of the gate
fold card.

When you lift the blue layer,
the yellow layer is attached to the
right side of the gate fold.

This is all the way open.

And of course, I have to share
his cake! :)

PSC Monochromatic Thoughts of You

This week's challenge for
is a monochromatic thoughts of you.

I really like working with
a monochromatic layout.
Here is my creation.

Bermuda Rose

My card base is bermuda rose.
I used a portion of a previously made
card front done in the shaving cream
technique using soft sky, bermuda bay,
and taken with teal for a background
layer. I stamped my 2-step image
from SU's A Rose Is A Rose stamp
set in bermuda bay.  I stamped off
first for the lighter layer.
I sponged the edges of the
image layer with bermuda bay
ink. I stamped the sentiment from
SU's Curvy Verses stamp set
in bermuda bay ink. I used
bermuda bay dotted ribbon in
a wavy effect across the middle,
and added a bow at the end.
I used pearls to finish it off.

PSC27 Wonderful Mother

This week's Perfect Sentiments
Challenge is a Mother's Day Color Story.
You can see the challenge here.

I used all 5 colors in the color story.
My versions of the colors were kiwi kiss,
cherry cobbler, dusty durango, barely
banana, and whisper white.

My card base is whisper white,
with a kiwi kiss DP, cherry
cobbler, and another DP
forming my card front.
I stamped the image from SU's
A Kind Word stamp set in
memento tuxedo black ink,
and used markers and blender
pens with ink to color it in.
I used a variety of coordinating
DPs for my layers.
I stamped the sentiment from
SU's Well Scripted stamp set
in memento tuxedo black ink.
I added some hodgepodge
hardware with kiwi kiss ribbon
and some pearls for some
embellishing.

Ironically, this challenge was posted
on April 11, the one year
anniversary of my Daddy
leaving us to start his Heavenly
journey.  This last year would not
have been survivable if it wasn't
for my awesome mom! She is truly
amazing! So it was perfect timing
to celebrate my wonderful mother
and all she does for her daughters and
grandchildren! We love you Mom!

Punchy the Bunny with Bling

Well, I just couldn't resist doing
another card for this week's
Perfect Sentiment's challenge.
You can see it here on the

My first creation gave me my second
Easter card that was glittery and blingy.
But I have 3 very special girls in
my world that deserve some
sparkly Easter wishes.

So here is my second card
that I am entering into the Perfect
Sentiments Challenge for this week.

Punchy the Bunny with Bling

My card base is barely banana, with
a diamond patterned DP layer.
I cut a strip of certainly celery with
my Creative Memories wavy
blade cutter, then covered it in
versamark, heat and stick powder,
then a green SU glitter.
Punchy the Bunny got his name
since he was created using punches.
He consists of a variety of oval, circle,
and heart punches.
The white ovals were covered
with versamark, heat and stick powder,
and iridescent ice embossing powder.
The "cheek" circles were sponged
with pink pirouette ink around
the edges first.
The pink punch-outs are done
with shimmery pink paper.
And the googlie eyes finished
Punchy off.
The basket was made using the
round label punch and oval punches.
It is certainly celery, stamped
with the linen BG stamp with certainly
celery ink.
The eggs are a variety of
pearls, formed in a dimensional
look. A daffodil delight bow on the
front finished the basket.
The sentiment is from the
SU A Good Egg stamp set.
It is stamped in memento tuxedo
black ink onto vellum cardstock,
then layered over lavender lace,
both punched with the 5 petal punch.
I used the flower trio punch
on barely banana cardstock, then
used more pearls in the centers
to embellish my sentiment flower.

I hope my oldest niece enjoys it.

PSC26: Easter Bling

This week's challenge at the Perfect Sentiments
is an Easter card with some bling.
You can find it here on the

So here is my Easter Bling

The card base is melon mambo,
with the edges versamarked and
embossed with iridescent ice powder.
I used the Top Note Sizzix die on
lavender lace for an extra layer.
I stamped this unknown image in
memento tuxedo black ink onto
whisper white, used a partial
layer of barely banana,
using the distressing tool on both.
Hodgepodge hardware is
used to accent.
I colored my image with markers.
I used the versamarker over
the tulips, and embossed
them with iridescent ice powder.
I stamped the Easter sentiment from
Su's Well Scripted stamp set
in melon mambo ink onto
whisper white, cut it out, then
applied versamark directly to its
entirety, then embossed it with
iridescent ice powder.
I finished my card off with multiple
pieces of bling.

I'm thinking my sweet little
niece is getting this one for her
first Easter. :)

Teapot Tuesday Think Pink

This week's Teapot Challenge is a card
using black, silver, & pink
for Alix. You can read the story

Here is my creation.

I used basic black for my card base,
stamping the Crosshatch BG in silver
encore ink. I used the Top Note
Sizzix die on brushed silver,
and used half of it for a layer.
The pink strip is a shimmery pink
paper that I fell in love with.
This strip has black grosgain
ribbon and silver cord tied around
it in a knot.
The dog image is from SU's Canine
Capers stamp set, and is actually
1 of numerous dogs on the image.
I inked it with a basic black
marker to be able to just get the
one dog, onto shimmer white
cardstock.
The edges are sponged with
pink pirouette ink, then layered on
brushed silver and basic black.
The sentiment is from SU's Just So
Sayings stamp set, and is stamped in
Memento tuxedo black ink.
I finished it off with some black bling.

PSC25 Uplifting Sketch

Last week's Perfect Sentiments challenge
was a sketch with an uplifting sentiment.
You can see it at The Perfect Sentiment 's blog .

Here is my creation with this sketch.

I used a pastel glimmery pink paper for my
card base, a layer of textured/glimmered
darker rose for a background strip, as well
as a sparkly DP for a vertical strip.
Very vanilla cardstock was used for
the top rectangle layer,
as well as the wide oval punch-out
for the sentiment..
I used the Creative Memories paisly
punch for the trio of accents in the same
pink and darker rose papers, with
SU's satin white ribbon for a bow.
I also used my heat gun on my ribbon
tales to create a soft, wavy look.
I used an SU punch on the pink paper
to use behind my sentiment oval.
The sentiment is a Studio G clear
stamp, inked with rose romance ink.
I sponged a lot of edges with the rose
romance ink as well.
I also used the rose romance
marker to mimmick the border
design from the paisly punch
to outline the sentiment oval.
