Combined Challenge 2

Here is another combined challenge creation
for this week's Try a new technique
challenge of making your own
striped paper with
colored strips of cardstock...
and the color challenge of using
poppy parade, soft suede, and
daffodil delight.

TLC363 and CC361 Thinking of you German Shepherd

The card base is soft suede. I also used
poppy parade, daffodil delight,
and naturals ivory cardstock.
I covered the daffodil delight layer
with the pawprint from SU's Canine Capers
stamp set in soft suede ink. Then I used
strips of the poppy parade and soft suede
for the stripes.
The image is an Embossing Arts Co
German Shepherd stamp,
inked in soft suede.
I added some color to the grass with
the old olive marker.
I did faux stitching around the image
layer with the soft suede marker.
I stamped the sentiment from SU's
Warmest Regards stamp set
in versamark, and then embossed it
with clear embossing party.

Combined Challenge 1

I jumped in on the Splitcoast challenges this week.
I decided to combine a couple.

This card is a combination of this week's
sketch challenge ...

...and ways to use it challenge
(make a Valentine card without
using red or pink)

WT 361 and SC371
Purple Valentine

The card base is whisper white, with the
top portion embossed with the
 swiss dot CB folder.
The rectangle layers are purple
bazil and DP.
I used whisper white satin ribbon,
and also a purple striped ribbon to add
to the purple bazil rectangle.
I inked the sentiment from SU's
Holidays & Wishes set in versamark,
immediately followed by elegant eggplant.
Then I embossed it with iridescent ice
embossing powder.

I really like the simplicity of it.
And of course, the purples :D

A Tea Party in the Water

This week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge was a masculine card with a fishing theme.
We are sending our cards to a fellow teapotter's husband, Tig.
You can read Tig's story here .
Here's hoping Tig is back in the water in no time!

A Fish Out of Water

The card wasn't very cooperative in taking a
good picture today, but as with the men in our lives,
we learn to work with what we've got. LOL

For my card, I used whisper white and tempting
turquoise cardstock. The top layer is whisper white
cardstock, with the SU Weathered BG stamp
stamped in versamark. Then I sprinkled
pearl ex on top and let it glide over the cardstock,
shaking off the excess.
I stamped the fish image from SU's All
Wrapped Up stamp set in memento tuxedo black ink,
colored them with colored pencils, and cut them out.
I used some linen thread and a
hand-written sentiment.

Polkadot Birthday

Ribbon Flower

I love these ribbons from the previous in-colors,
although one is now current.
Anyway, I decided to make a ribbon flower.
I used the dotted bermuday bay, rich razzleberry,
and crushed curry ribbons. Each was folded in half
and adhered in a circle. The center of the
flower is a clear button with white thread through it
and a punched circle of crushed curry cardstock behind it.
I stamped the sentiment in the same three colors
along the right side of the card front.
The card base is crushed curry with a whisper
white card front.

A New Challenge

I decided to jump in on a new challenge today
-well, new to me-
splitcoaststampers.com has daily challenges,
and Thursday's is "Ways To Use It"
You can see today's challenge here.

The challenge was to use an image repeatedly
on your card, in honor of the movie Groundhog Day.
I actually did two different cards for this challenge.

Razzleberry Kindness

This first card uses a whisper white card base,
with a rich razzleberry card front.
I stamped a 2-step image from SU's
Heartfelt Thanks stamp set, using pink
pirouette for the image, and rich razzleberry
for the image outline stamp.
I layered that onto the cardfront,
and seperated them with the rich razzleberry
dotted ribbon. I used the paper piercing
tool around the top and sides of the
card front to carry through the dots.
I stamped the sentiment from SU's Heard
From the Heart stamp set in craft
whisper white ink, then embossed it with
white embossing powder.

Lavender Lilac Thank You

This card uses a lavender lace card base,
with a whisper white card front.
I repeatedly stamped the image from SU's Painted
Posies stamp set in memento tuxedo black
ink for the bottom border, and colored it with
lavender lace and certainly celery markers.
I tied a lavender patterned ribbon around the card front.
I stamped and colored the image the same way
again and cut it out with the SU wide oval punch.
I used the versamarker over the lavender
flowers, and embossed it with clear embossing
powder for a little extra pop.
I sponged the oval edges with lavender lace
ink and mounted it on lavender lace cardstock.
I stamped the sentiment from SU's
Because I Care stamp set in lavender lace ink.
